ASA is the outdoor answer to ABS. Same rigidity and processing, but formulated to survive sustained UV exposure without chalking or colour shift — which is why exterior trim and outdoor equipment specify it.

Is ASA worth the extra material cost over ABS?
Outdoors, yes. ABS degrades visibly under sustained UV — the surface chalks and the colour drifts. Indoors the difference rarely justifies the cost.
